What kind of oil to use on a squeaky wood chair? I just bought a beautiful gently used wood rocker but it squeaks. What is the best oil to use for a good piece of wood furniture? I have olive oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, grapeseed oil, castor oil and mineral oil already on hand. Will any of these work without doing harm to the wood? I'd prefer a natural and inexpensive solution.

What is the proper oil to use in a 2003 Nissan Maxima? I'm hearing a noise in my car. Someone told me I have water in my tank. Checked it out. No water. Someone told me I needed spark plugs or maybe its the oil I'm using. I always go to the Nissan Dealership to get oil changes. I just called them and asked them what type of oil are they using. They told me regular oil 530. Its time for me to get an oil change at this point (I hit 3000 miles) and I noticed this morning driving to work that I didnt hear the sound as much. Should I be using synthetic oil or what? How do you know which oil is better?
What does oil leackage on the top of my engine mean? I found a lot of motor oil around the place I pour oil into my engine. This oil is not a result of any extra oil that came out while adding oil to the engine but it came during my daily car use. What does that mean?
How do I remove the oil from a vortex type oil water seperator? I am a student looking to build an oil water separator for a project, and am thinking I will use the vortex design, but I have a question. How do you get the oil out of it? I understand that the water will go to outside and create a cone, and that the water will thus naturally go down bottom hole while oil will go to center. But how do you remove the oil? Will it simply spill out of cone? Or do I have to put something there to suck it out? And how do I prevent the last of the oil from going down bottom hole when water flow stops? Your help is much appreciated.
Can I change my oil filter while leaving my oil in the engine? I just bought a new car and the shop that put the filter on really tightened it down. I had my dad try and get it off, but he put a dent in the dang thing trying to twist it off. So I'll have to take it into a shop so they can do it. And I just put new oil in it figuring I change the filter later, right? It's a 2000 Z28 Camaro if that matters. I think the oil sits in the oil pan and you can take off the filter without any oil coming out right?
What is the best oil to deep fry chicken in? I have vegetable oil, canola oil, and peanut oil. I'm not real sure about the difference. I usually use canola oil to deep fry with. But I have peanut oil left over from Fondue Night. I'd like to get that used up.... Any suggestions? :o) TY! I decided to use the Peanut Oil and it turned out wonderful! Not very greasy at all!!! I do think I many continue to use this to fry my chicken in. Thank for ya'lls replies!
How do you change the oil on a Honda Elite 80, and what kind of oil should I use? I have a 1986 Honda Elite 80, and the red light has come on again. I know where to empty the oil, but I don't know: 1) What type of oil should i use? (weather is always 40 to 75 degrees where I live) 2) Do i just empty the oil and refill, or is there something else that needs to be done, like cleaning a filter? 3) How do i get the switch to go back to green once i change the oil. The last time I changed the oil, it stayed on red. Thanks.
How do I get oil off of a micro fiber couch? I got something that seems to be an oil of some type all over my newer microfiber couch. I'm at a loss as to how the best way is to get it off. It is a clear oil of some kind. It came from a back that was stored in my porch, so my guess would maybe be a motor oil? I don't know how ANY oil would have gotten on the bag, but that's my best guess of what kind it would be since there's no cooking oil out there ever. TIA!
How do I get Massage oil stain out of the back seat of my car? I had a half gallon jug of Almond oil in the trunk of my car. I guess from rolling around in the trunk, the lid loosened up and came off. The whole 1/2 gallon of oil soaked the trunk of my car. About a month later, I noticed it seaping through to the back seat. Now after a year of trying to soak it up, shampooing it with my own shampooer, and getting it professionally shampooed, I cannot get the oil out of my seat or trunk! Now its starting to smell like old, stale oil. I have been Febreezing it, but i really want to get the oil out WITHOUT replacing the back seat and truck. Any suggestions?
What is the best vegetable oil to use in an oil lamp? I have a handmade oil lamp that I bought in the mountains of North Carolina, and while it runs great on paraffin oil, I'd love to see how well it works using vegetable oil. Are there any vegetable oils that burn better than others? Thanks!

What is the proper oil level on a motorcycle? I have an 06 Suzuki SV650s and I just did an oil change, well the manuel to my understanding says to fill to the top line on your oil window. I did this but when the engine is running and you look into the window, you don't see any oil. So should you be able to see the oil in the window when the bike is on and running?
Is oil the most important issue that presidential candidates must address? The future of oil does not look very bright. Within the next 7years, experts think there will be a global oil shortage. Industrialized countries will demand more gas and the supply will not be able to meet the demand. The consequences of a global oil shortage could be a nightmare. President Obama said he will stand up to big oil, but shouldn't the USA be focused on reducing its demand for oil. Obviously the higher the price of gas is, the more people will cut back on their driving. What are the presidential candidates' plans to reduce the USA's demand for oil?
How do oil changing shops change your oil filter when your car is really hot? I change oil at home, but I don't like waiting 4 hours for the car to cool so I can reach up and change the oil filter. How do those shops do it without scalding their arms? Let me clarify cause not everyone understands the scalding part. When I say without getting scalded I don't mean by the oil that leaks from the filter, I mean getting burned by the hot engine components like the oil pan or block.
What is the advantages and pitfalls between synthetic oil and mineral oil? Some said that synthetic oil can last more longer. Lets say... it can sustain up to 10,000KM meanwhile mineral oil needed to change at every interval of 5000KM. How true it is? Have you heard about semi-synthetic oil? How do we know whether the oil that we purchasing was semi-synthetic oil? Are the manufacturers goin to label there? And what the hell they created semi-synthetic oil? If they wanted to create a man, just create it and not something in-between. That was totally ridiculous.
How do I drain some of the oil from my car? I did an oil change on my Aunt's van yesterday. When I refilled the oil, I put in about 5 quarts of oil. When I poured the old oil back in the container, it was only about 4 quarts. Now when I check the oil dipstick, it reads above the full mark. Can I drain some of the oil from the engine by loostening the drain plug, or do I have to drain the whole thing and then refill it again?
What baby oil should i use for newborn baby's head? I am expecting my baby in another 4 weeks and busy wrapping up all the shopping. I am planning to use Olive oil for body massage. How much oil will a blown head gasket consume in 1000 miles? I have a blown head gasket (or so they say) and two quarts of oil were missing after 1000 miles. Does this make sense? There is no noticeable burnt oil in the exhaust, the pan and valve cover were sealed three weeks ago. Where did the oil go?
How do you discard the oil that you used for deepfrying? This might be an absurd question. But in Japan, there is this powder that can harden oil. I just need to mix the powder into oil and the oil gets solid so I can just scoop it out and toss it into a garbage can. But in the states, how do you discard the oil that you used for deepfrying?
What type of oil do you use in a deep fryer? how long do you keep the oil? My parents bought me deep fryer for christmas, and I am setting it up. It is a pretty nive digital one, not the little round ones for 20 bucks at walmart. Should I use vegetable oil, or another kind? I know there is one oil that is really bad for you (i think it is corn). I worked in restaurants when I was a kid and know to filter the oil to keep it clean. How long should I keep the oil? I hold about a gallon to gallon and a half of oil. Should I keep it in the fridge when not in use or leave it in the fryer with the lid closed? I plan on using it maybe 2-3 times per week.
Changing oil in a diesel truck compared to gas? What is the difference (or what should be done differently) between doing an oil change on an unleaded fuel truck and doing an oil change on a diesel truck. I have done my own oil changes on my 94 Ford 1/2 ton, but I am looking at getting a 97 Ford diesel and I would like to still be able to do my own oil changes. This is my first diesel truck so I have a lot to learn. Also, do they require any other maintenance that my unleaded truck did not? Thanks in advance for the info!
How often should oil filters be changed? I just changed the oil for my 1994 Toyota Camry without changing the oil filter. Some mechanics I've talked to say that it should be changed with the oil every time. Others say that it's OK if it's done every other time. Other folks say that it really doesn't matter.
Anyone replace their oil or gas fired home furnace with a dual fuel (wood/oil or gas/oil) unit? My dad is planning to replace his oil-fired furnace. Someone had mentioned to him the existence of a dual fueled unit, one that can use wood or oil. He has a good amount of firewood available, so, the only cost associated with it would be harvesting the dead wood and splitting it. Does anyone have any experience with such a unit? How well does it heat when using wood vs. using oil? Can you run it for extended periods on oil (say, if you are on vacation for a few weeks)? Compared to replacing with an oil-only unit, would a dual-fuel unit have a positive, negative or no effect on the value of the home (ie. is having a dual fueled unit viewed negatively by potential buyers, since he is also considering putting his house on the market in another year or two)? Thanks!
How oil is created and trapped deep under the earth? I need to create a song or a poem based on this but I need the info. If someone help me, I would appreciated. Thanks! How oil is created and trapped deep under the earth? How do we uncover oil and bring it to the surface?
Does oil fired heating lower the value of a house? Will they have green taxes in the future+is it more costly? We have seen a house which we like that was built 2 years ago but it's in a rural area and has an oil fired system. We're not sure whether to go for it as quite unfamiliar with this. Our research shows crude oil prices can be volatile and have risen 300% over last few years plus boiler maintenance is costly. Not sure whether energy efficient either. Anyone have any experiences with this? Does it put future buyers off if we were to try and sell the property?
What happens to a car with too much oil in the engine? The other day I changed my oil myself, only I failed to remove the drain plug while draining the old oild then I added 4 qts of new oil to the old oil. Now I have too much oil in the engine. Shouls I just do a complete new oil change (filter and all) or should I just drain some of the mixed oil out to reach the proper level?
How much cooking oil is actually in a serving of fried food? I am deep frying a serving of fries and chicken and wondered how much of the cooking oil is actually in the cooked food. I am using Canola oil and after the food is cooked and drained I am thinking that there isn't much oil left in the food. What do you think?
What would make an oil pan gasket start leaking the same day I have the oil changed? I've got a 2001 Ford Focus SE with 69K miles that I’ve had from mile 5 and maintained perfectly. I took it to the shop for an oil change and that night it leaked oil, just one drop, for the first time ever. Each day it got to be a little more, so I took it back and they cleaned the engine to find out where the leak was coming from. That night it leaked so bad it was like a small stream, but it was no longer oil colored but, like vegetable oil. At first they said it was probably the power steering fluid. Now they are telling me its the oil pan gasket. Why is the fluid now nearly clear? Why would it have started leaking the day it was at the shop? Did they sabotage my car so that I'd have to pay the $370 to fix it?
How can I safely dispose of oil from an oil lamp? I have two miniature oil lamps that are still filled with oil. I want to trash the lamps, but am leery of just putting them in the dumpster because of the fire hazard. Burning the oil out is not an option because the wicks are not long enough, and I have no replacements (nor any wish to buy any since I'm getting rid of the lamps). Any suggestions?
Why can't oil companies invest a piece of their profits to lower the cost of gasoline? Oil executives had to go before congress to explain their high profits. The 5 biggest oil companies made a profit of 123 billion dollars last year. What if they took just 1 billion of those, and sunk it into the price of gasoline. Would that lower the cost signifigantly? I think the price is artificial, though I am no expert on economics. If everyone is hurting so terribly on prices, then the oil companys should be hurting to.
Pumping up oil pressure so an engine has a good lubed start? Is there an add on for the automotive engine oil system to pressurize the engine oil before the engine is started. I don't mean after an engine has just been rebuilt, rather an engine that has already run. I am hoping to keep the engine in top shape by preventing any dry starts after the engine has not been run for a few days.
What causes oil leaking from the front of my fridge? My fridge has oil leaking under the front of it onto the floor. It looks and smells kind of like motor oil. It's clean and clear. Everyday I wipe it up and it reappears. Just enough to wipe up with a paper towel. What's causing that? Is it something that can be repaired or am I looking at buying a new fridge?

How much affect will the BP oil spill have on the products they own such as castrol? I know that "BP" owns the brand "Castrol". With everything thats been going on(oil spill), I was wondering how that would affect their products such as catrol motor oils? Since BP has to now spend millions to try and clean up their mess, will this mean the quality of their products such as catrol motor oil go down? I used to use catrol edge all the time for my car but since the oil spill, i dont know if castrol is still the same quality.
What oil do i use for my oil injection motorcycle? I have a 2-stroke oil injection motorcycle. I need to get this clear on what is the best oil to use in the oil injection system. The motorcycle was built in 1980. Also, what oil should i use for the transmission/ wet clutch? I now understand what to use for the oil injection, but should i use 2 stroke oil for the wet clutch and gearbox? If not then what?
How does oil react in a recessionary environment? Given the current market situation and the movement of the price of oil, the answer is clear that given a recessionary environment, the price of oil will fall. Why is this? Is it because of the market perception that a recession will cause less spending and therefore less demand for oil? If you have any sources, please cite them. Thank you!
How can you clean oil spots off a concrete garage floor best? I have seen spotless floors that are cleaned each night in a Pep Boys - right on the concrete garage floors over which they change people's oil. What are they using? The garage floor of my rental house has a little of everything on it. Some oil stains from motor oil, some paint stains, etc. What would work best/easiest without scrubbing my fingers to the bone?
When chaning the oil on a car will all of the oil drain properly using ramps? I have a manual transmission and it is a pain to pull up onto the ramps, but it's easier to get under the car then with my jack and stand. I am concerned that all of the oil will not drain out properly due to the angle of the oil pan. Does the oil drain better if the car is completely level? I have also jacked the car up to removed the filter and start the oil draining and then lowered the car flat to let it continue draining. Which is the best method?
Can you use olive oil in cookies instead of vegetable oil? I have a cookie mix that calls for 3 T. of veg oil...I have about 1 T. here....can I combine that with olive oil so I can bake cookies? Also, what about egg beaters? Can I use them (no yolks in those) too? I think I should probably quit while I'm ahead but I want some cookies for my nephews when they visit. Any suggestions?
What is the average heating oil consumption for a home during the summer months in New England? I am trying to figure out if I am burning an unusually high amount of heating oil during the summer months. I had my 250 gallon tank filled in mid April and it ran out of oil today (10/12). 41 gallons a month seems like a lot of oil for heating water during the Spring, Summer and Fall. It is just my wife and I living in the house and we take average length showers once a day. Please let me know if my consumption is too high.
What could be causing the oil pressure to drop in a 2000 Dodge Dakota? A friend of mine took his 2000 Dodge Dakota ( automatic transmission ) to a garage to have it repaired because the oil pressure kept dropping, They changed the oil pump and cleaned out the tube connected to the oil pump. Oil pressure was fine while idling in the garage, but when they took it out for a test drive the oil pressure dropped again. So they took the truck to the local Dodge dealership to have them connect it to the computer to see what was wrong with it. Nothing at all showed up on the computer. So the garage still doesn't know what the problem is. Does anyone have any idea what's causing the oil pressure to drop?
How come US produced oil is the same price as foreign oil? That evil cartel OPEC has pushed up prices - but how come US producers don't sell the oil at a 'fair' price. Looks to me like US oil producers are quietly filling their pockets as they supply about a quarter of US oil. If Alaska is drilled, do you think the oil companies will sell at a 'fair ' price or an OPEC price?
How to change oil in riding lawn mower? Be aware, I have an extremely bad back. I am not sure if I am even going to tackle this alone. If I am able to loosen later, what type of pan fits in this narrow space? Help.

Any help would be so appreciated! If you happen to know ratios for the other two, that would be great as well. Thanks!
When does oil in a deep fryer go bad and how to get rid of that SMELL? My husband works late and makes his own dinner each evening per his request. He loves tacos and has a deep fryer filled with olive oil that just sits there. He does not want me to throw it out because he uses it about 5 times a week. When he cooks, it stinks up the whole house. Letting it sit there day after day also stinks. Any suggestions? He won't use any other oil besides olive oil.
How do I get Massage oil stain out of the back seat of my car? I had a half gallon jug of Almond oil in the trunk of my car. How long can you go between oil changes with Mobil 1 synthetic oil? I've heard that you can increase the interval between oil changes if you use a synthetic oil, but no one has been able to tell me precisely how much the interval can be expanded. I have a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville, 3.8l 6 cylinder engine, 128k miles. The car manufacturer maintenance recommends every 7500 miles.
Will pepper oil or garlic oil prevent cats from chewing on plants? I'm wanting to buy a philodendron plant, but am afraid one of our cats will see it and try and eat it, mistaking it for her cat grass. I'm wondering if pepper oil used for cooking sprinkled on the plant will work, or, alternatively, hurt the plant. Or what about garlic oil on the plant? I know that pepper on the skin can burn, so am wondering if it could do the same on the plant. Or, is there any type of spray that can be used to prevent the cat from getting near the plant before she chews the leaves? Philodendrons are poisonous to cats, so I don't want her to even chew on it, which is why I want to avoid bitter apple spray. Hope all this makes sense, and thanks in advance?
How often should you change your oil? They say you should change your oil every 3,000 miles. What if it takes you almost six months to drive 3,000 miles. Should you change your oil based on an experation date? Does engine oil go bad in six months?
How do I remove danish oil to stain and lacquer a cabinet? Do I need to worry about removing the danish oil? or can I just stain straight over the top of the oil? The danish oil was applied about 5 years ago, so is very thin and in some places looks non existent. I want to laquer in a satin finish, and not use danish oil again. This is a second hand buffet. I'm not sure what danish oil has been used. Thanks

What kind of peppermint oil do I use when making mint chocolates? A girl at work brought me some peppermint essential oil - 100% pure botanical undiluted and it says it can be diluted in a vegetable oil base. I picked up some Spearmint Oil today though from the Bulk Barn that the employee said I could use for sure, just incase.
How do I get cooking oil spots out of clothes? I spilled some cooking oil on a favorite pair of pants and a t-shirt. The dark spots did not come out of the pants. Also, the washing maching has a warning to never dry anything in the dryer that has had oil on it. (Even cooking oil, it says.) Will it ever be safe to dry the pants again.
What is the best synthetic oil for my vehicle? I just bought a used 2004 Yukon Denali. I want it to last and will be pulling a pop up trailer, travel trailer etc. What is the best synthetic oil that I can get from like Valvoline instant oil change stores? Or others like Jiffy Lube, etc. Just want to find the highest quality oil that will last. Thanks.
Should the major oil companies be asked to bailout the Big 3 automakers? The major oil companies have reported over $100 billion in net profit over the last 3 years and easily have the cash to bailout the big 3 by buying up a lot of their worthless stock. And lets face it, the major oil companies are the ones who were pulling the strings of the Big 3 to keep cars running on gasoline while Japanese automakers shot decades ahead in R&D for hybrid and electric cars.
Can I drink liquid fish oil with water without ruining the benefits of the fish oil? I drink a teaspoon of a liquid fish oil supplement ever day. I find just swallowing the teaspoon of oil a little foul. I know if I pour it into water it'll just float on the top but i still find it a lot easier to swallow like that because there's so much liquid I barely notice the oil. But would this dilute the effect of the fish oil in any way? Would it still work properly? Thanks!
I think I overfilled the oil in my car, but nothing will drain out. What could have happened? I added the called-for amount of oil after draining and changing the filter. Afterwards, the dipstick indicates that the oil is significantly overfilled. Weird thing is, when I went to drain off some oil, nothing came out of the oil pan. I'm wondering if something screwed up because I didn't drain the old oil when the engine was warm. Perhaps not all the old oil drained out, and then the addition of new oil amounted to too much oil? Again, weird that nothing's draining from the oil pan. I'm scared to drive the car. I have started it a few times, but that's it. The oil filter still fills up after running the engine. Where'd the oil go? I checked one of the spark plugs and it was clean. What should I do? I called a mechanic and he suggested driving (carefully) to the shop. Is it safe? I don't want to cause any further damage than may have already occurred.
How is Oil and Gas Industry related to Electrical engineering jobs? I don't understand how oil and gas industry has anything to do with electrical engineering jobs?? Am I not seeing this because currently I am working as a electronics engineer ? This is how I am thinking about this - Oil and gas industry , digs up oil , provides it to our cars and trucks so they can run. Now I don't understand how or where "Electrical engineers" come into play into this ?? Please make me understand. I want to know. P.s: I am an entry level electronics engineer, with a degree in "Electrical engineering" , Currently I am located in Houston, texas.

I think ultimately, its their responsibility, not the coast guards. Thank you.
How do you check your motorcycle oil level? I have a glass circle, with a low and high point on my motorcycle engine, for checking oil level, and obviously the oil level has to be in between the two, and im quite sure this should be checked when the bike is fully stood up. But, im unsure whether this oil level should be checked when the motorcycle is running, or after it ran when the oil is hot, or after the oil is cooled down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

Got an oil change now there is smoke coming up from the engine? I got an oil change then when I got home I noticed there was smoke coming up from under the hood. I checked under the hood but can't tell where the smoke is coming from. My brother said they probably just spilled some oil and it's burning off. But this has never happened to me after an oil change. Could it really be just some spilled oil or could they have messed something up?
What is the best oil leak additive for trucks? I have a 1981 Ford F-100 6cylinder truck. It seems to have an oil leak somewhere above the oil filter which is on the drivers side. I wiped the outside of the filter clean, then drove the truck for less than an hour. When I parked it back in the yard and popped the hood the top of the oil filter was totally splattered with oil. The whole bottom end of the engine is oily. It does not leak so bad that I can visually spot where its coming from. Anyone know of any high tech engine sealants or additives that I can add to the crank and try?
What can I use to remove oil from my stainless steel blade? I've recently recieved a custom-made katana (Japanese Sword) from a very trusted company. Anyway, it's blade is made of a stainless steel instead of high carbon steel, which most swords are.Their sword care guide said that most swords come with a coating of oil to protect it during transport. Mine didnt. And they also said it didnt need any oil covering, because of the type of blade. I was wondering if someone could elaborate on this? Also, there is a coat of sword-care powder that accidently got underneath a coat of Choji oil(special oil for swords) and now it has dried on there. On that same guide, though, it specifically states that when you recieve the sword with oil coating, you can remove it using lacquer thinner or mineral spirits. Would there be some sort of different solvent to use because of the type of blade? And where would be the best place to find mineral spirits, anyway? Thanks alot for anyone willing to help. ~M.D.
What kind of motor oil or any oil can you use on a air filter? I have an 07 Jeep Commander I live in a very dusty state. I was wondering what kind of oil i could use on a stock fram air filter since they do not make a tough guard air filter for this vehicle. Is there like a 5w-30 or some other oil i could use to help it collect more dirt?? Any Help is much appreciated. Thank you.
How many years does oil paint in a tube last efficiently before I have to throw it away? I have found several oil paints in tubes from several years ago that have hardly been used. Do I have to throw them away or can I keep them for a little longer if I decide to start painting again? I don't know what the life expectancy of oil paints in a tube is before the paint starts to lose its quality. Does it have a life expectancy? Any ideas? Thanks.
How do you remove oil from small metal parts other than scrubbing? I have a large pile of small metal drum parts that are completely covered in what appears to be motor oil. I have removed the oil from the larger parts with Simple Green and a scrub brush but I'm definitely not looking forward to cleaning the smaller parts that way because it'll be very labor intensive. Does anyone have any ideas on other ways to remove the oil? Are there any household products that I can soak the parts in that will remove all or at least some of the oil? Boil them? Any products that aren't too toxic? Thanks.
So i just bought coconut oil for the first time and I'm kind of confused? I just bought coconut oil, and from what i've read it should be solid unless it is in a room above 80 degrees. But in my house it is like 74 degrees or something, and the coconut oil is liquid. Is something wrong with it? Should i put it in the fridge? This is high quality, organic extra virgin coconut oil. definitely not like honey. I would say its even thinner than olive oil.
What is the best leather saddle conditioner or oil? I have a brand new saddle and it is pretty stiff and VERY squeeky! What weight oil does a 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650 take? I started it up for the first time in over 3 years today and it is smoking like a son of a gun. I am assuming that old congealed oil needs to be replaced. What weight oil does it need? I have a boat load of 10w-30 but I can't find out of thats what it takes. Thanks! Guys, it's an 83. There is no warranty and there is no manual at all. Thanks for the answers. I will get it done tonight.
Does Obama realize the difference between oil reserves and oil consumption? Obama seems to believe that because the United States only has 3% of the worlds oil reserves we can not drill our way out of it, because we use 25% of the worlds supply. We have enough oil to last 50 plus years. I believe we could do a lot over the next 50 years in finding and implementing additional energy sources.
How do you get oil stains out of fabric art pieces? My 18 month old daughter put her fingers, greasy with sunflower oil mixed with clove oil (a home remedy for teething) on to a very precious quilted art piece, belonging to my step mother. I need to get it out before she returns home, if possible. Thanks.
What is more of a threat to the civilized world: Oil shortages or global warming? I think oil shortages are a bigger threat to the civilized world than global warming. During the summer of 2008, oil supplies were stretched thin because the of the demand for oil. Economists think the USA will start recovering from the recession within a year. When this happens, that country will want more oil. China, India, Brazil and Russia will want more oil too. Actually, these 3rd world countries continue to grow. If they do not stop growing then there will definitely be oil shortages. Hopefully, gasoline will be affordable.

What are some possible problems associated with rusty engine oil? I changed the oil in my 2003 Dodge Stratus the other day and found that the oil had rust floating in it. The car is a four cylinder and I change the oil regularly; every 5000 miles with a synthetic oil. The car is parked outside 99.9% of the time, could that have something to do with it, and is this a problem that needs to be addressed or is it insignificant?
How is oil and natural gas extracted from the earth? Oil and natural gas is extracted from the earth, but how? Please explain, in simple terms, the method used. I think it all revolves around oil drilling, but I don't understand the method. Thanks! How do oil spills affect the human body? I am doing a science project on oil spills. I have gotten most of the information. I need how it affects the human body, the source, the affect on the surrounding environment, how it enters the human body (from cell-to tissue-to organ-to organ system-to the entire body, the result of the pollutant, long term affects. I know that is a lot but there is much more that I already know. So if anyone could help me with this information it would be greatly appreciated.
How can I make replacement oil for room diffuser? I have one of those room diffusers with the oil that you put the little bamboo sticks into. The oil has now been used up, it only lasted for around six weeks. I would quite like to keep the bottle and reuse the sticks. Does anyone know what type of oil can be used in these bottles? I was thinking of using essential oil and watering it down, any tips would be great, thanks.
How does the cost of oil relate to the economy? I have noticed that in todays economy, when there is a huge drop in the DOW, there is a also a drop in the price of oil. When the DOW goes up, so does the price of oil. How do these two elements relate to each other? I personally think that the drop in oil is good, as we get gasoline cheaper. On the other hand, we need a stronger economy. The way I understand it is cheaper oil means lower operating costs of companies which means a stronger economy. But I dont understand why the drop in the DOW results in the drop in gas prices.

What causes some cars to burn engine oil faster than other cars? one car I own usually makes it to the next oil change date..with oil still full and just needing changing, while another car I always have to check to make sure the oil is not low before its oil change date. Why is that? Also, I am assuming that driving with low engine oil would contribute to transmission problems in a car...is this correct?
How many gal of oil would it take to heat a 5-rm apt in MA, with new windows, new storm door, and insulation? The apartment has 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen. The apartment would have 2 occupants. The new insulation is in the whole building, including the attic and the basement. There is a new storm door and brand new windows throughout. Hot water is supplied by gas. Only the air-heat is supplied by oil. I'm trying to determine how many gallons of oil I would use in a year, as I've never lived in a place heated with oil before.
How will the oil crisis limited the supply of food in your community? Without proper planning, food shortages will pose a significant problem in a World Without Oil. What is the way to change oil on a new small engine? I just bought a new 6.5 horsepower, 4 stroke engine from Harbor Freight. After putting the oil in for the first time, how long should you run the engine until you change it again? Or do you only have to put oil in the engine once when its new, and then change it after it has actually gotten old? I am asking this because I heard that metal scraps can go into the oil the first time it is used. Thanks!
What is the best "natural" way to control excess facial oil? I have been using Dr. Bronner's Hemp and Tea Tree oil soap and have had almost all of my adult acne clear up. I also use a home made facial scrub with epsom salt and kosher salt mixed with a bit of virgin coconut oil, grapeseed oil, pepermint oil and orange oils. My face loves it and has reduced break outs and overall oilyness. What I want to know is, does anybody know a good natural way to control the excess facial oil that builds up throughout the day? I will not use blotting towels because many have oils that break me out. I am trying tapioca starch in my bare escentuals foundataion today and have had a huge improvement; but, I was just wondering if anybody else had any suggestions aside from re-washing and blotting towels. Thanks! I forgot to mention that I do only wash my face only twice a day and use the salt every 2 to 3 days. I do also use an oil free moisturizer from Clean and Clear and use a natural shampoo and conditioner for oily hair. Not eating oily foods does not help too much
How should you store your used frying oil? At Thanksgiving is deep fried a turkey in peanut oil. When i was done i strained the oil through a piece of cheese cloth and returned the oil to the original plastic container it came in. Since then i have kept that container of oil in my garage which is cool, but definately not cold. My question is, is the oil still safe to use?
What oil is put in a liquid filled pressure gauge? We have a pressure gauge here at work that has a oil in it-- I assume for preventive measures against condensation and vibration. However, the oil has turned dark brown and needs to be drained. Yet, I dont know what I need to put in the gauge to replace it. As of now, I can't even read the needle... Thx in advance.
